Tantec Products – Surface Treatment and Surface Energy Measuring
We design and build surface treatment machines and supply surface energy measuring technology for you to use in your manufacturing.
Tantec have been manufacturing Plasma Surface Treatment, Corona Discharge Treaters, Ozone Treatments and Electrical Leak Detection equipment since 1974 from our key manufacturing site in Denmark where Corona treatment was originally invented and developed in to the products we have today. From this site we supply around the globe and have a local presence in around 40 countries.
Since then, a wide range of systems have been developed, many are standard systems available for integration in your factory, but we also offer a wide range of bespoke and custom systems designed by our skilled engineers to meet your specific requirements.
One thing we find happens a lot is that customers come to us with one product in mind, but once they visit and see the machines first hand, using the technology themselves on their parts, it might be something completely different they end up using compared with their first ideas. | Atmospheric Plasma A jet of energised plasma, usually made from air, will treat single 10mm stripes up to 150mm per nozzle. | Vacuum Plasma A chamber connected to a vacuum pump has 99% of the air removed, which allows us to energise the few remaining molecules with only a small amount of power. | Corona Treatment Similar to plasma, corona treatment is a highly energised system and uses high voltage to break up air in to an excited plasma. Corona is often more engineered, able to treater wider, faster and more efficiently than plasma for many applications. But perhaps lacking the flexibility of plasma. | Ozone Surface Treatment Ozone gas (O3) is a reactive form of oxygen, with three oxygen molecules rather than the standard two. This gas reacts with a surface to give a similar result to Plasma and Corona. | Electrical Leak Detection Using high voltage, we can find micron sized holes in less than a second. With the simple principle that resistance from no hole is greater than the resistance from finding a hole, the technique is very powerful and fast. | Integration and Automation Our equipment is always best used in a repeatable and automated way. Whether this is due to a steady manufacturing process such as an extrusion line, or due to automation such as robotics and rewind systems. | Surface Energy Testing For the treatment systems, the ultimate test is the impact on your part – whether that’s adhesion performance, part cleanliness, print clarity and quality or coating uniformity. An indication that the process has worked is to measure surface energy, which can be done using Dyne Test Inks and Dyne Pens or contact angle and force tensiometers.
